The United Effort Towards the Relief of Fire Victims
As many around the world are now aware, Greece has suffered tremendous loses during the course of the summer, due to wide-spreading forest fires. However, what many don?t know is the incredible and unforeseen loses that some families had to endure as victims of this unimaginable catastrophe.
Being touched with compassion for the victims, a united effort has sprung out of the hearts of the believers at the Second Greek Evangelical Church of Athens under the auspices of the General Synod of the Greek Evangelical Church to promote an immediate relief effort for the inconsolable victims of these recent calamities.
Victims were comforted, as the first shipment of food and goods arrived on Saturday, September 8th. Approximately 150 families received a non-perishable food supply as a result of this preliminary effort. The second effort then took place on the 22nd of the same month, where the afflicted received a delivery of food, goods and animal feed with the help of 2 delivery teams.
"Hellenic Ministries - Contributions"
It is indeed with great resolve that Hellenic Ministries has now joined the effort for the relief of those affected by these fires. Our initial effort will consist in donating 20 heads of sheep to a local family in the mountainous area of Peloponnese. HM will also provide a truck, for the transport of these animals and other goods to the families on site.
This third shipment will take place on the upcoming Saturday, October 6th. We pray that the Lord will allow us to help supply for these urgent needs as we join in to bring relief for the ones who have endured great loses.
